Design Your Own Tartan Ring

Design Your Own Tartan Ring

All of Christine's designs are an invitation to start a design conversation. In addition to her unique commissions, even her collections can be customised to make them more personal.

This is one of her extremely special customised Tartan rings. The Tartan rings are the first ring design to transform the fabric into a diamond ring. The pattern uses princess cut diamonds to create a layout that allows for different gemstone colours to be grouped together.

Our customer commissioned their own unique ring design inspired by their family tartan. The Ancient Weir tartan is blue and green with yellow lines so we made their ring with a central blue sapphire, two matching blue sapphires either side, and used green garnets for the other eight stones. Set in 18ct gold, the settings create the yellow lines from the tartan design.

My customer chose these gemstones in person at our studio in Ayr. We considered other gemstones, such as aquamarine, peridot, green tourmaline and blue topaz but these stones were the winning combination.

It's a beautiful ring that she can wear now and eventually pass on to future generations of her family.

My Tartan ring design can be commissioned with any combination of precious gemstones. You can choose to be inspired by your family tartan, or choose colours from a tartan that your partner wore at your wedding, choose birthstones or even just colour combinations you love.
