Sparkle Your Way to Better Health
Share
We know we love sparkle because it is beautiful and it attracts our attention but there are scientific reasons behind why it brings us feelings of joy and euphoria.
Some scientists believe that our love of sparkle comes from our nomadic ancestors who would spot life saving sources of water in the distance when they walked the earth.
It's easy to see why the sparkle from diamonds would evoke memories of light reflecting off water.
I love living by the sea and have an instinctive feeling that it is better for my health than living inland but I searched online to see if there was more to this than just a love of seascapes.
I'd heard of green spaces before and their health benefits but I discovered that there are also studies that show areas next to water are called blue spaces. People living in blue spaces were found to have better mental and physical wellbeing and better social relationships than people living inland. The reflection of sunlight on water is thought to increase the amount of light and also the amount of vitamin D.
So next time you are admiring your sparkling diamonds and you feel calmer and happier, let it be a reminder that your feelings of wonder and joy are not superficial but in fact have a deep connection to your physical wellbeing.
This ring was made for a customer with one row of off-set diamonds. After wearing it, she decided she would like more sparkle so we set it with another row. We chose smaller diamonds to fit the space and they were set so that they lined up with the other stones, giving a very modern and unique look to her ring.
Adding diamonds to existing pieces that we have made is always an option, even after you have purchased a piece. It's part of our unique ongoing service that we offer. Some customers get diamonds added to mark special occasions or each year to record their anniversary.
