Do You Need A Shaped Wedding Ring?
Some engagement rings don't sit well with a straight standard wedding ring.
If your ring is an unusual shape or there is a gap between it and a straight wedding ring, a shaped wedding ring might be the right choice for you.
Shaped wedding rings can be plain rings that flow with the shape of your engagement ring for a subtle look
or they can add tremendous style to a bridal set. With this wedding ring, we made it so that it worked perfectly with the bride's engagement ring. We set the diamonds on one half of the ring to mirror how the ring looked when it was next to the engagement ring. It looks as if this engagement ring was always meant to be with this wedding ring. 
The bride was given her engagement ring from a different shop but they didn't have a shaped ring as perfect as this one is. It also makes her wedding ring unique.
Sometimes, people see a design on our website and then try to get another jeweller to copy it. It can be because they want to use a jeweller close to them or somewhere they think will be cheaper. This is always a bad idea as it's not just the look of the piece that is important but the skill employed to make the design work.
This was one ring that my customer had tried to get made elsewhere before she got in touch with me. She had asked another jeweller to copy our design but the ring looked terrible when it was made. The jeweller didn't have the skill to set to the standard that we make our jewellery to. She made a journey from England to our shop in Ayr with her mum, left her ring so that we could work out the exact shape and when the ring was ready we posted it to her. She was delighted with our ring.
If you aren't local to our studio in Ayr and it's not possible for you to travel to us, we have lots of different ways to help you choose the best wedding ring to suit your style. For example, this video was made to show a couple in South America different styles of wedding rings with an engagement ring. It really demonstrates how small details in the wedding ring change the look of the set entirely.
Some people decide to purchase an additional ring later on to match the wedding ring and wear it on the opposite side of the engagement ring so that the engagement ring is in the middle. This is a lovely way to make the engagement ring set into a wider symmetrical design.
As well as setting diamonds in your shaped wedding ring you can choose a gorgeous colour palette to make your wedding ring unique. I love the combination of diamonds, pink sapphires and amethysts that this bride chose to sit next to her rose gold, amethyst and diamond engagement ring. It is photographed here next to her husband's band. He chose a rose gold wedding ring to complement her bridal set.
Sometimes people choose a shaped wedding ring and it doesn't have to sit next to an engagement ring. This style of wedding ring can be worn on its own. This ring was made by commission and is set with blue and white diamonds.

The shaped wedding rings on our website are available to see and try on at our studio in Ayr or we can send you videos of the rings and make suggestions as to what might look great with your engagement ring. Ordering one of these rings in your finger size takes around 6 weeks to make.
For a bespoke shaped wedding ring we recommend having around 12 weeks though some designs can take a little longer, depending on how long the design process takes.

If you want to order your wedding rings far in advance of your wedding, we can make the rings for you, have you approve them and then we can keep them safe for you until nearer your wedding date so that you don't have to worry about where to store them until your big day.
