inherited wedding ring upcycled into a lab diamond necklace

What To Do With An Inherited Wedding Ring?

If you have inherited a wedding ring from your parents, you might not be sure what to do with it.

A wedding ring has a lot of symbolic meaning but it is also extra special if it is one that you know your mum or dad wore every day. Objects that someone has worn build up an almost magical energy.

If you want to change an inherited wedding ring so you can wear it, we think it is nice to be able to see what it once was.

This is the first time we have made a wedding ring into a lab diamond necklace. We made a setting for a one carat lab diamond and it was soldered inside my customer's mum's wedding ring which was drilled for a chain to go through in a way that keeps the original hallmark which records the date.

Not only is this a beautiful connection to her mum but, by wearing it, she creates new connections for future generations.

If inherited jewellery sits in a jewel box or safe, eventually, it becomes something that no one has any memories connected to and it will be sold on.

Remodelling old jewellery is a lovely way to keep a physical piece of your family history.

If you are looking to have a piece of old jewellery made into something new, get in touch and we can make some suggestions with an idea of cost and timescale.
